Have you ever been so full of gratitude that it drowned out every negative thing going on around you? Occasionally I find the need to sit in silence and be grateful for the opportunities that have presented themselves to me in order to show appreciation for my life. I’ve also noticed that it helps me to serve at my highest potential as a holistic health coach because I am in a better mental, emotional, physical and spiritual place to serve the ladies in my tribe from a more pure, genuine manner. They say that we can’t pour from an empty cup, right? So, filling my cup with gratitude is what is needed for me to perform at my BEST! Performing at my BEST was a critical piece to my personal development not too long ago. Have you heard about yet?
Looking Within and Choosing Our Attitude
Recently I was a keynote speaker at a life transforming event with purpose-driven professionals from different countries in attendance and chose to speak on the significance of looking within and following our heart. I speak about this topic so frequently because I have personally witnessed how full of LIFE I and other people I coach become when they make decisions that bring them fulfillment, peace, meaning and joy! It’s like their walk, talk, mindset, and whole perspective of themselves changes for the better. Not only that, but they begin to shine light onto others.
Some people wonder how an individual can choose to be happy, grateful, and shine light onto others when there is so much calamity and darkness in the world. After interviewing ladies on my Simplicity Healthstyle podcast from a multitude of geographical locations around the globe I’ve begun to realize that negative circumstances do not necessarily mean that you cannot believe in and achieve a dream. Your mindset and personal characteristics also can determine how you walk your path even amongst challenges. I have heard people discuss how tragic circumstances helped turn their life into something great and now they are positively impacting others to also step into their greatness while using their God-given gifts. As a result, they’re able to influence others to also believe in themselves and make things happen that ordinarily wouldn’t happen if they continued to walk around with self-limiting beliefs.
Making Gratitude a Daily Habit
When was the last time you expressed gratitude? How do you do it? Do you rush through it? Does it refocus you? Does it invigorate you? Hopefully it’s not a practice that drains you and causes you to run to the hills trying to make a dramatic escape from your normal life. My hope is that expressing gratitude will allow you to appreciate where you are in the present moment while realizing that you still have more growing to do to in order to realize your fullest potential and share it with others who need your positive light, presence, and LOVE.
Starting today, let’s do an activity together for at least the next 7 days! Let’s commit to writing the top three things we are most grateful for in a gratitude journal on a daily basis and see if it shifts our perspective on our life in the present moment. Let’s see if we begin to notice more of the nice things people do for us, notice more of the luxuries we have available to us, and more of the freedom we can take advantage of to be able to positively impact and help support more people on an international scale.
Does this seem difficult? If so, how can you re-prioritize your schedule to make sure you express gratitude (and write it down) on a daily basis? The fact is that we make time for things that are important to us. So, if it’s important to you to express gratitude you will make it happen. If it’s not important you will tell yourself that other things in your life take precedence. I encourage you to give it a try even if you miss a few days because overtime it will develop into a habit. You may even be prompted to step outside of your comfort zone and use your own personal gifts to make the world a better place through your actions of service.
So, what do you think? Are you ready to express gratitude and accelerate your growth or are you comfortable with staying exactly where you are right now? Let me know in the comments section and invite yourself and friends into my Nutrition 4 Busy Women Facebook group where we don’t just nourish the body, but also nourish the mind and soul by expressing gratitude!
Thanks for reading and sharing with your friends!

I am grateful to be living in a state of abundance! An abundance of love from family and friends, positive energy, and wealth. Everything is energy, once you have a mindset of abundance, you will live stress-free and flourish in appreciation.
Thank you for sharing! 🙂
I’m grateful for new beginnings and I am ready to see what is in store for me!
A few years ago I tried to keep a gratitude journal but fell off because I was prioritizing my school work and felt like so had to write a few pages at a time. I think if I started doing this again, but just listed 1-3 things a day, it would be better and open my eyes to a lot of the blessings in my life.
I practice Gratitude often because it causes me to think about the beauty of things, even though the world is filled with so much negativity.
I am ready to go to the next level! I am grateful for this moment in time and space.
I do rush through gratitude because I feel like there is always something else I need to be doing. So I need to change that
I’m looking forward to keeping a daily journal of things that I am grateful for. It will be interesting to go back and read how the top things may change over time.
I am ready to start expressing gratitude as a part of my daily routine!
Today I am grateful for the following:
-My Daughter
-Our Health
